Questionnaire: Embarked To UK From Where: Rangoon Via Bombay. Name Of Troop
Ship: H.M.S. Worchester.
February 1947:
Statement: The battalion remained on service in Burma until February, 47,
but I had resisted the temptation to sign on, believing it important
to get home and back to training
as soon as possible. My War Service neatly carved out four years exactly.
March 1947:
Statement: I embarked on The Empress of Australia
at the end of January 1947 bound for Burma via Singapore (Nee Soon). I
was station at Mingaladon, Rangoon in March 1947 until late in 1947 when
I went as part of an advance party to Egypt, via Singapore. The Batt. arrived
in Egypt around Xmas time 1947.
