The Chutter Munzil - Lucknow
Theatre Of War Index
One of the breathtaking views which some of the Berkshiremen
witnessed from the window of their 36 seater, troop-carrying biplane as
it flew over Lucknow in 1940 was the Chutter Munzil in Lucknow.
The Chattar Manzil, also known as the Umbrella Palace, was constructed by order of Nawab Ghazi Uddin Haider. Completed after his death by Nawab Nasir Uddin Haider.
