During his war time service Terry Ashby, in his pre-war professional capacity was assigned the task of obtaining a list of soldiers killed in action in order to make the wooden crosses for their place of rest.
Terry was an active member of the Burma Star Association, attending Brock Barracks, Reading for there annual re-unions and service. And it was there that he met and became friends with the late Colonel John Hill.
